Music
In my younger days I played electric jams and folk tunes, basement blues and the Tuesday Hootenany at Gerdes Folk City. Then life happened and set my guitar aside for many years. About ten years ago I happened on a fingerpicking approach to a Green Day song that started me on a new approach that has driven me to write odd (mostly acoustic, many open-tuned) songs and play at local hoots, open mics and jams around my home town.

An EP of four of my songs, The Way So Far, is available for download and purchase at https://andykass.bandcamp.com. Here are a few demos that I hope to polish up and better record soon:
-
Absent Friends - You see street signs with people names all over Staten Island. There's the Postcards memorial facing the Bay and the space once occupied by two towers. We're still here, and so are they.
-
Bethlehem - A song in open C tuning, inspired by John Fahey and things I cannot explain.
-
Blow Away - Sometimes the only thing you can do for the pain of someone you love is write a song.
-
Every Shade of You - A dream composition in open C.
-
Goodbye - A celebration of Murray and his fellow Jerks Incorporated.
-
Mask - A meditation of lockdown that I hope passes from relevance.
-
Running Circles - Another swing around the seasons, another lap around the sun: a contemplation and celebration in song.
